As a Research and Teaching Fellow in BioResource Systems at Leeds, you will be part of a world-leading Research Group responsible for delivering exceptional student experience at undergraduate and graduate level, as well as cutting edge research activities in the Global South, supporting projects on nutrient control and recovery from wastewater, bioenergy generation from biomass, assessing GHG emissions from sanitation facilities, and developing technologies for microalgal biomass cultivation and valorisation.
We are particularly looking for highly motivated applicants with ability to further develop their skills on student supervision (undergraduate final-year projects and MSc dissertations), research-led teaching in water, public health and environmental engineering (undergraduate and MSc modules) and multi-disciplinary research (supporting PhD supervision and on-going research projects).
You will have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a closely allied discipline, and a Masters degree in Public Health Engineering or Environmental Engineering. You will also have a strong background in Water, Sanitation and/or Renewable Energy from biomass in developing countries, and a well-recognised ability to organise and deliver lectures in wastewater treatment, water quality, and/or resource recovery from waste.
