Lecturer in Sustainable Water Resources
Job Purpose
To carry out research and scholarship in sustainable water resources science and management, deliver an excellent student experience through teaching and assessment, and contribute to management and administration. At Grade 8 demonstrate leadership and contribute to academic and strategic management and to advance knowledge exchange, public understanding, outreach and/or research impact with demonstrable connections to non-academic stakeholders.Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform the following range of activities:
Develop, lead and sustain personal and group research aligned appropriately to School/College research strategy.
Enhance your research profile, reputation and esteem through:
Establishing and sustaining a track record of independent and joint publications of international quality in high quality refereed journals, generating research impact in terms of economic/societal benefit;
Presentation at international and national conferences and at internal/external seminars, colloquia and workshops;
Identification of potential funding sources and the development of proposals to secure funding from internal/external bodies to support future research;
Developing and maintaining collaborations with colleagues across the School/College/University and external Academic and Industrial Partners;
Contribution to team/group meetings/seminars/workshops and activities to enhance the wider knowledge, outputs and culture of the School/College.
3. Contribute to the /planning, organisation and delivery of high-quality teaching, supervision and assessment activities across under/post-graduate programmes within the Subject/School.
4. Contribute to the on-going development and design of under/post-graduate curricula, to ensure a research-led and scholarly approach to student learning and assessment in the discipline and/or profession. 5. Manage a variety of academic administrative activities, including timely delivery of effective and constructive feedback on assessment, and provision of pastoral support.
6. Contribute to the management and organisational duties of the School, as assigned by the Head of School. 7. Engage in personal, professional and career development.
8. Contribute to the enhancement of the University's international profile in line with the University's Strategic Plan - World Changers Together
For appointment at grade 8:
Demonstrate enhanced leadership, academic responsibility and strategic management, particularly through internationally leading research, outputs and funding.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential:
A1 Relevant PhD or equivalent experience in physical geography, hydrology, environmental science or a cognate subject.
A2 Significant breadth/depth of knowledge of topics around sustainable water resources management in natural or urban ecosystems that complement and build upon the existing strengths of the School.
A3 A growing international reputation as evidenced by esteem indicators.
Desirable:
B1 Knowledge of nature-based solutions and use of these techniques for managing climate change and water-related flood risks.
B2 Experience of working on interdisciplinary or data/modelling driven research projects on water-related topics and/or in practice (consultancy or government).
B3 Experience of working on applied water resources management projects with external partners/stakeholders.Skills

Essential:
