MSc by Research for UK or EU applicants in the field of: Mechanical Engineering (also includes disciplines such as Chemical, Computational and Electrical Engineering)

Project Synopsis:

The application of water sprays in cooking has significant nutritional benefit through retention of vitamin and flavour and significant environmental benefit due to reduced energy requirements. Clyne Energy is pioneering this technology and has introduced a first generation of this technology into a cooking device that is gaining acceptance in premier kitchens. The aim of this project is to refine the concept by improving the spray system to give dry, moist or wet cooking environments. Specifically the project will focus on developing the supply of hot air combined with a spray having tuneable drop size to facilitate the different cooking environments.
